Whether you’re a comedian on the rise, someone who has perfected the stand-up game or someone who simply loves all things comedy, the Baltimore Comedy Festival is an event you don’t want to miss! The festival will take over the city from September 1st to the 4th, and there are events in place to cater to every preference.
According to organizers, the mission of the festival is to link the Baltimore comedy community with free events that celebrate the industry. If this sounds like something you’d be into, keep reading because they have quite the lineup scheduled.
For starters, there will be an opening ceremony and showcase on August 31st at the Motor House Baltimore at 8pm. From there, the festival tours the city with events at Baltimore’s best stops like The Wind Up Space, Joe Squared, St. Mary’s Lounge, and T.A.P.S. Fill Station, and the closing ceremony will be at The Sidebar downtown.
The festival will feature showcases, panel discussions, art shows and even podcast recordings of the city’s best comedians and shows. If you think you have the chops, the festival is currently accepting stand up submissions. You must submit your act according to guidelines, however, so be sure to read the rules here.
Not a comedian yourself, but you still want to enjoy the festivities? Come out for the laughs without the added pressure of performing. Most of the events are free, and our downtown Baltimore hotel puts you in perfect proximity to all of them.
