With 31 games left to play the Baltimore Oriole’s have a chance to climb right back up the ladder after the Texas Ranger’s defeat leaving us 5.5 games back in the American League Wild Card race. Keep your hopes up O’s fans… This is baseball and our Oriole’s have triumphed worse circumstances before!
15 of the games left to play will come right here in our very own backyard at Camden Yards. And with the postseason on the horizon and many teams still in the hunt for October, there will be much to play for.
Here is our final look at upcoming series for the Baltimore Oriole’s:
Kansas City Royals
The Kansas City Royals are defending American League Champions, and they sure have played like it all season. Sitting at 80-50, an incredible 30 games above .500 with a full month left still to play, the Royals have the makings of a 100 game winner. Teams like that don’t come around often are worth the price of admission.
Boston Red Sox
The last place Red Sox will come to town for a three game set. The Oriole’s should be expected to win at least 2/3 in this series if they want to keep their playoff hopes alive.
Toronto Blue Jays
September 28-October 1
Make no mistake about it, the Toronto Blue Jays are the absolute hottest team in baseball right now. After trading for David Price and Troy Tulowitzki at the end of July, the Blue Jays have been nearly unstoppable. If the Oriole’s do fall out of contention, they will play the spoiler role. With only two games currently separating the Jays and Yankees, the Oriole’s final opponent, this could be the most important series of the season.
New York Yankees
In what could be potentially be the final series of the season, the Baltimore Oriole’s will close at home against the hated New York Yankees. If the O’s are still in contention, this series could have major implications for the not only the AL East but also the AL Wild Card. Can the Oriole’s alive until then? Only time will tell.
One thing is for sure: the Baltimore Oriole’s will play a major hand in the deciding the AL East and AL Wild Card races, whether as spoilers or playoff contenders.
There is still a lot to be played for in Baltimore. And if you are still searching for a reason to visit this great city and explore all of the things to do in Baltimore, the time is now!
