Let us know if this sounds like you: you’re a fitness nut. You run all the time. You’re logging several miles per week, and you wouldn’t have it any other way. If this rings true, we have the perfect opportunity for you. You already run, but now you can run for a cause bigger than yourself.
On behalf of the Herman & Walter Samuelson Children’s Hospital at Sinai, Race for our Kids is coming to Baltimore to benefit children in need. The race will take place Sunday, September 17th, and is open to people of all fitness levels! Even if you don’t necessarily feel conditioned to run, you can still come out and support the children’s hospital.
There will be both a 5K (3.1 miles) and 10K (6.2 miles) with a route throughout the Mt. Washington neighborhood. The 10K is a bit more difficult and challenging, but it features more than $4,000 in cash prizes. There are no strollers or pets permitted in either the 5 or 10K races.
For family participants, there will also be a 1-mile family fun walk. This walk is designed for people with young children or people who’d prefer to walk instead of run. There will also be fun surprises and entertainment during the walk.
According to their site, the Herman & Walter Samuelson Children’s Hospital at Sinai believes in the importance of a family-centered care center. From specialties like cancer and diabetes to pediatric care, the hospital works on personalized plans focused on the family and the patient.
